Volunteer to Help

Volunteers are the heart of our service and it is through their efforts that we are able to meet the needs of our seniors.  Although a small office staff oversees our various services, our dedicated volunteers perform the majority of the work.  Most of our services can be completed in two or three hours.  You tell us what you would like to do and how often you are willing to do it, and we will connect you with the senior who needs assistance.

We are always looking for volunteers.  Over the years we have come to recognize that everyone has skills that they can use in serving others.  Over 50% of the services that we offer are those providing transportation to seniors who no longer drive.  If you have a good driving record and have some free time during the week, you could help.  Another 15 - 20% of our services involve home repair projects.  If you are handy around the house, you could help.  If you have some basic construction skills, you could help install grab bars or build wheelchair ramps.

If you are interested in helping the seniors in our community, we would love to talk to you.  You can call our office Monday through Thursday between 9 am and 1 pm (541-928-2173).  Or you can click here to download and print the Volunteer Application form.  Just complete the form and mail it to our office.

If you are interested in serving on our Board of Directors, please contact our office to request an information packet.  There are many skills that would make you a useful Board member ranging from planning and finance to community relations and fundraising.  But most important of all is an interest in helping us with our mission of providing services to low income seniors.
